 (COVID-19) UPDATE May 16, 2020
RULES & REGULATIONS FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS IS AS FOLLOW

Dear BTT members,

I hope you and your family have remained safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.
As a member of our Brazilian Top Team Academies, I’d like to share an update with you regarding our club status. Based on encouraging member feedback, we are pleased to announce Brazilian Top Team Academies in San Antonio, Schertz and Austin, will reopen to members on Monday, May 18 at regular class time hours.

As we move to reopen, I want to ensure you that the health and safety of our BTT family is our highest priority. We’re confident in the steps taken to enhance our safety and cleaning measures, outlined below.

ENHANCED CLEANING
  • The academy is equipped with disinfectant spray bottles for regular cleaning of all high-touch surfaces with hospital grade disinfectant.
  • Comprehensive deep cleaning and disinfecting processes in the club each time there is a class.
  • Hand sanitizing and cleaning stations throughout the club that provide disinfecting products for members to apply before and after using equipment.
SOCIAL DISTANCING:
  • Signage facilitating increased spacing between fitness floor equipment, in locker rooms, and throughout various areas of the academy.
  • Due to capacity limits, the classes will be first come, first served.
ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS:
  • Classes will be in GI ONLY.
  • Rash guards are absolutely required below the Gi.
  • Bring and wear a mask if you choose.
  • Bring your own water bottle as refillable stations/water fountains will be unavailable at this time for safety.
  • Bring a clean sandals to change at the door prior to enter the academy.
  • Bring a towel for you or your child to wipe sweat and keep clean.
  • Highly recommended each person bring your own hand sanitizer, so you can use it whenever the student or parent feels it is necessary.
  • In-and- out:  arrive ONLY five minutes prior to class as no one will be allowed to enter the building and wait inside prior to class.
  • For the next two weeks you are allowed only one class per day to prevent each person sweat to next class.
  • Limit your visit to just those on your membership as no guests will initially be allowed. Parents & family members must wait outside or in the comfort of their cars.
  • When you arrive, have you or your child find a space on the mat and try and remain there.
  • No shoes on the mat and no bare feet on the floor. This is more important now than ever.
  • Make sure to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds every time you use the restrooms.

We are going to start class back up slowly. No rolling for now, with the exception of siblings who are already close to each other daily. We will be doing warm-ups and drills to help adults and kids remember all the things they haven't been able to do, and start to recover the muscle memory that was built.

Additionally, with everyone’s health and safety in mind, we will be limiting the use of our clubs to members at this time. We also know that as a big family as we are, we all miss each other a lot; however, we ask each member to uphold the following prior to visiting the club:
  • Do not come in close contact such as hugging or hand shake at this time, some people may want and like to do, but a lot of others prefer distancing.
  • Respect each other’s opinion and privacy.
  • Stay home or leave the academy immediately if you’re feeling ill.

BTT Texas Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

To the members of the Brazilian Top Team – Texas community:

At Brazilian Top Team Academies, the health and wellness of our students, coaches and staff members is our number one priority.
We are keeping an eye on the information provided by the CDC and will continue to monitor the spread of the Corona virus. Should emergency directives be issued, we will take appropriate actions directed by government officials.
In addition to our regular cleaning at the academy, we have contracted a cleaning company that is deeply cleaning on a regular basis. We also have hand sanitizer and wipes available throughout the premises.

The situation we are facing with the COVID-19 outbreak continues to evolve rapidly each day. We are closely monitoring and following the recommendations of local, national and global health agencies to ensure our decisions remain consistent with their guidance, and protect our community.

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING COLD OR FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS:

The CDC urges all people with cold or flu-like symptoms to stay home to prevent spreading to others. Training and competition can wait. If you develop any flu-symptoms, please do not show-up to classes what so ever.

For our academies, the current risk level associated with COVID-19 is low. We all know that Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai are close contact sports so let's all work together and take proper precautions.

•             Wash hands often with soap, especially before and after classes
•             Avoid touching mouths, noses, and eyes
•             Avoid public places when sick
•             If you are not feeling well- please stay home! If you, or someone you are in contact with regularly, have traveled to an area with a high risk of contagion please do not come into the academy for at least 14 days.
•             If you seem to show any signs of being ill and are advised not to train, for your safety and that of others, please understand and comply.

We value your loyalty and thank you for doing your part in keeping everyone in the community safe.
As always, the safety of our members and staff is our number one priority. We are fiercely protective of our community and as a precautionary measure to limit any risk to you or your loved ones.

We also hope we can be sensitive to each other’s burdens in this situation and make accommodations when we can. And we count on every member of our community to make sure that the discrimination, shunning and bullying that sometimes accompany an outbreak never occur at BTT - Texas.

In this uncertain moment, we have every confidence in our community’s ability to pull together with kindness, care and concern for the common good.

Sincerely,
BTT Texas

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! We've been members for over 3 years and this was honestly the best decision I've made for my kids. My son and daughter take Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai classes and I've never been less than impressed by the coaching. All of the coaches are great with the kids and they make sure that the techniques are learned correctly. I've recommended several people to this gym and will keep recommending since I'm so happy here. The gym really is like a family and everyone is genuinely nice and friendly from the moment you walk in the doors. Diego, the owner and head coach, truly cares about your experience there and makes sure that you are more than satisfied as a member. We've found a home gym for life!
